We are raising funds to help pay for Trisha Cormier’s life-saving emergency medical expenses, and ongoing care for her and her 4 year old son, Brazen.
Trisha is a native of Sulphur, LA, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1998. She then attended Northwestern State University in Louisiana, graduating with a degree in Mass Communications. After the birth of her precious son, Brazen, she decided they would settle down back in her hometown of Sulphur, with her mother, Karen. In August 2020, tragedy struck and like many others from Southwest Louisiana, they lost their home and everything they owned during Hurricane Laura. This disaster forced the family to relocate to Texas and start over. After re-settling near Houston in Bacliff, TX, Trisha found a new church and has been focused on homeschooling her little boy, while also working on getting her certificate to teach High School English. After finally getting their new place feeling like home, tragedy struck again.
One week ago on March 30th, Trisha went to the hospital with severe chest pain and was diagnosed with an infection around her heart. She was admitted and put into a medically induced coma for several days, while also on a ventilator with double pneumonia, and major organ failure. Doctors expected her heart to stop several days ago, but she is still hanging on, fighting as hard as she can. She has been diagnosed with a rare blood clotting disorder, making the necessary surgery too risky to perform. Now to further complicate the situation, she has suffered a stroke. Surviving this unexpected tragedy means both her and Brazen’s future will be very different than expected, and she will be in need of rehabilitation and ongoing medical care for the rest of her life. We know above all else she wants to be here for her son and will continue to fight with everything she can.
We are a group of Trisha’s lifelong friends and classmates raising money to support Trisha and her son Brazen with this unimaginable situation. All proceeds will go towards the life-saving medical expenses, and ongoing care for Trisha and her son.
We also ask for continued prayers in the weeks, months, and years to come. Trisha and her family are people of faith, and welcome every prayer called out in their names. We ask God to minister to Trisha and her loved ones as they face this painful new reality and every challenge that comes their way. God moves through faith and prayer, and we believe He is already moving in a mighty way, In Jesus Name.
