Support Life for Heba in Gaza: Food & Essentials Amid War
Donation protected
What does it feel like to lose everything: the past, the present, and the future in an endless, brutal war?
Heba no longer dreams of the future as she once did. Her only dream now is safety and to wake up one day without the sound of bombardment, to live without the fear of losing what little remains.
Heba, a girl from Gaza, once lived a life filled with joy and happiness that gave her hope. She studied English literature passionately, seeing every word she learned as a window to the world. She graduated, got a job, felt a sense of independence, and began dreaming of traveling and discovering new places.
But the war came like a fierce storm, uprooting everything. In a single night, she lost her home, which held the memories of her childhood and the dreams of her youth. The first displacement was painful, but Heba clung to a glimmer of hope. Then came the second and third displacements, until the idea of returning to stability felt like an illusion.
She sat in the camp, staring at the dark, asking herself, "How can war change a person that much?" Everything she had lost, her home, her job, her dreams of traveling had become wreckage weighing heavily on her soul.
About the fundraisers, Sarah and Sonja:
Sarah Cunha McConkie is an American based in Utah who has seen the devastation of the people in Gaza and felt the urge to help in any way they can. Sarah is married, has two little dogs, and continuously dreams of a better world.
Sonja Call is an American based in Utah with the biggest heart and a great capacity for community and care. She has three sons, but sees all the children of Gaza (and the world) as her kin.
Sarah and Sonja have come together to support Heba, a girl from Gaza who is in need of aid. With the current situation as it is, humanitarian and survival aid are the most immediate needs for those suffering most in this conflict. Our goal is to help sustain and provide for Heba's needs as the prices for all food has skyrocketed and the need for winter shelter is great. All donations will be processed by Sarah into cryptocurrency and sent to Heba on a regular basis. This money will be used for food, clothing, and survival items. We hope to eventually help Heba evacuate and relocate somewhere safe, if and when that option is available.
