Support Funding For Jacob’s Life After Heart Transplant
Donation protected
On 03-31-2025, I underwent a spontaneous heart transplant surgery after only 13 days on the waitlist (instead of the estimated 6-12 months) to hopefully increase my quality and quantity of life, after having nearly exhausted all less severe treatment options over the last 4 years since a surprise stroke that led to the discovery of a Truncating DSP Mutation (what essentially slowly replaces muscle tissue in the heart with fat, and eventually causes heart failure or cardiac arrest).
I am hoping that insurance covers medical expenses, but all of the additional costs of living and utilities are going to be difficult to hit on our own, especially after having just needed to move apartments due to flooding a week prior to the procedure.
So far, most of these funds are being used to help me get recovery equipment like stairs for beds, pillows, chairs that don’t make me sit horribly, and to cover incidental things that pile up like car insurance, random bills or charges, therapy, non insurance covered bills, healthy food and safe cooking equipment, etc…
I am in a (relatively, lol) great position I think right now, so please only donate if you want to and are able. I am using this platform now primarily as a way to keep everyone invested updated on my well being, as well as to document my journey in one spot until I can do something a bit more structured and concise.
Thank you all, so much. Look forward to seeing you all once I am healthy and back in the world!
