Clarence “Dean” Sharp, 89, passed away the morning of Sunday, December 8, 2025, at his home at Brightview Westminster Ridge in Westminster, Maryland, surrounded by family.

Dad was an avid reader and especially enjoyed Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novels. He also enjoyed non-fiction and fishing magazines. He was instrumental in instilling the importance and power of reading in his children. He often shared articles he found both online and in print.

Dad loved visiting the library, placing holds, downloading ebooks, and listening to audiobooks.

He was proud of both me (Cindy) as I fulfilled a dream and became a school librarian and his granddaughter (Vivienne) as she recently became a library assiciate 1 and began her pursuit of an MLIS.

In lieu of flowers, Mom and Dad have requested donations to either Anne E. Moncure Elementary Library (below) or Friends of the Carroll County Public Library
