Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about Liberty. I am Tricia, her foster momma. My husband and I have been in the rescue scene since moving to East Texas in 2018. We specialize in Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepards, but don't turn animals in need away if we have the space.

2 Weeks ago we were alerted to Liberty and her injuries. Liberty was clearly trying to survive on her own or a long time. She was covered in fleas and riddled with parasites, then she was struck by a car. Liberty was left broken and along on the side of the road. At just an estimated 6 months old and only 24 pounds, she had already endured more pain than any puppy ever should.

A compassionate woman refused to leave her there and stopped to pick Liberty up, she knew in her heart that Liberty needed far more care than she would financially be able to provide. That's where my husband and I came in. We were notified of an injured puppy, Liberty, who was having a hard time standing and had been hit by a car. I coordinated with my husband to go pick her up while I was at work and to take her immediately to our Vets off who was on stand-by.

After performing x-rays it was found that Liberty had a broken left femur just above the knee and a broken right pelvis. Dr. Crystal Bohanon along with Dr. Williams, performed surgery the next day on Liberty. They were able to place pins in Liberty's broken Femur and are hopeful her fractured pelvis will heal it's own with time and rest. Liberty also has a very extreme gash on her right hock they are hopeful with time will heal since there was not enough skin left to close the wound. Dr. Bohana met us after-hours and it's that kind of compassion that saved this puppy's life!

Now that Liberty is home with us as a foster, she if finally able to rest. She receives all the care she needs now-medications, food, water and a soft safe place to sleep. Something she maneuver have known before.

Liberty's road to recover will be long and expensive, but she is a fighter and she deserves a better life. She didn't ask to be born into hardship and she certainly did not deserve this pain. With your help we can make sure her story doesn't end in suffering- but in healing, love and a future she deserves with a forever family once she is healed.

Every donation, every share and every prayer makes a different.
