My name's Lia, and I was recently hospitalized because I had an epileptic seizure and fell down the stairs, straight onto my head. The fall fractured the back of my skull and caused bleeding and swelling in sections of my brain. I'm incredibly lucky to be alive and barely avoided drilling screws into my brain. I couldn't hear, speak, talk, or move at first and had to learn it again. I'm grateful that I'm now in rehabilitation and trying to walk without a walker.
However, for the rest of my life, I'll need a wheelchair and will always be having seizures from my epilepsy. Because of this, I need a seizure alert dog to keep me from having another near-death experience and give myself the best quality of life I can give myself, but the average cost is $15,000 to $20,000. On top of that, the beginning of my medical bills is coming in, and it's costing tens of thousands of dollars. I'll be doing my best to put in the money, time, and effort I can, but I'll be needing some help.
If you can, I'd greatly appreciate your help, no matter how much, so I can continue college, get and maintain a job, and live a good life with a service puppy! Either way, thank you for listening and for your well wishes. I hope you have a great day :)
