Support Liam's Urgent Medical Journey

Hello everyone, I am organizing this GoFundMe for a family friend of ours. They are more like family than friends but anyway back to the main reason for this. Mariah has posted on social media but does not have GoFundMe yet. She has been accused of being a scammer because her Facebook profile says she is from Missouri, which is true, but people obviously move. They have had to deal with so much already with their son and this unexpected medical emergency is already enough stress on them along with the five other children they have. This is a long read and I apologize but please read everything.

Day 1

Five days ago, the Wiley family was hit with the unexpected Liam who is 13 and their 2nd oldest son out of six children was taken to the emergency room in Guymon Oklahoma. Guymon hospital then loaded him into an ambulance and transferred him to Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton Tx. He was transferred to Perryton for emergency surgery to remove his appendix because they were scared it would rupture. He arrived at Ochiltree General where he was admitted, and surgery was scheduled.

Day 2

Liam was supposed to have surgery at 7:30 am and this was put on hold for other tests to be run. The doctor thought it was more complicated than just his appendix and boy was he right. They did a CT with contrast and found more issues and decided from there to send him to Lubbock Tx to a Lubbock hospital to see one of the best pediatric GI doctors. Which moved Mariah and her husband Casey further away from their home in hooker Oklahoma where their other 5 children are (these kiddos are with an adult family member at their home in hooker). They made it to Lubbock and were admitted into the hospital

Day 3

They started out with more questions than answers, they were told the possibilities where Crohn’s disease, Colon Cancer, and a simple tear and infection but also his lymph nodes in his stomach were swollen and inflamed and they scheduled him for a colonoscopy for more answers.

During all of this they were given a list of resources from a social worker to get help with hotel food clothes because they literally only have the clothes on their backs. Mariah called the entire list, and everyone is out of resources she has been posting daily with updates and asking for help for her family. She posted on a Borger Tx for sale page and was told she was scamming people, and this is no scam this is a very serious situation. Imagine going through all this and then being told you are just scamming people with no proof or anything only because it says she’s from Missouri.

Day 4

Still no help and money is wearing thin they have no clean clothes to be able to change into and Liam does not have shoes they are told they still have to stay a couple more days. They were told it’s not Crohn’s dieses but were checking for diverticulitis now. After the Gi doctor came in and told them this he went from straight bloody stool to a dark tar like stool and then they started running more test on this poor little boy.

Day 5

Liam was taken back for his test on diverticulitis. After Liam’s colonoscopy it was found he does have Crohn’s disease and a hernia in his esophagus. They are doing a rush biopsy and more test tomorrow leaving them in Lubbock another night. The doctor is getting together a game plan on treatment and finding a specialist that takes their insurance. They found out at the hospital that they do not accept their insurance at the Lubbock hospital and now will be drowning in medical debt. They will be here for at least a couple of days still for the tests and getting on a good plan for Liam’s recovery. If you can donate please do if not please share and prayers are so appreciated. this momma and family are going through so much and it breaks my heart for this sweet boy his siblings and parents and of course all the other family members hopefully they can get this all straitened out soon and he can start to feel better

So his intestine test came back good. We got the green light to go home and immediately see a GI doctor in OKC but they wouldn't give us a referral, so we were discharged and headed back home. 25 minutes into our trip home, the doctor calls and says "BRING LIAM BACK IMMEDIATELY HE NEEDS SURGERY HIS APPENDIX IS GOING TO RUPTURE" Liam is crying in the back seat, having an anxiety attack saying I don't wanna die mom" we are crying, cuz WHY DID Lubbock hospital ignore the 2 previous er visits saying his appendix was the issue? We fly back to the hospital and a new doctor comes in and says "who called you? his appendix isn't about to rupture but it's a possibility" We tell them the doctor who discharged us literally 25 minutes prior. they call her she's lying out her ass saying she NEVER CALLED US AND SAID THAT. So her and I went round and round. Why would we go back if we didn't get a call?? So now we have to go home, wait an entire week to get a referral for OKC. Liam's Crohn's is attached to HIS appendix so that surgery IS WAY more complicated now. Liam's appendix is a ticking time bomb. So after all the anxiety attacks, stress, tears, I refused to leave until the doctor apologized to Liam for lying and scaring him. She said "well I'm sorry you feel that way." We will NEVER go back to that hospital. I have recordings of the head of GI attacking me and being rude, I have recordings of promises nurses and other doctors shouldn't have been making.

We already have a lawyer who's looking into it for us, They've lied to us, gave us several scary diagnoses, severe negligence, malpractice, they removed his IV without gloves or sanitizing. STOPPED his antibiotics to keep the appendix inflammation down cuz "it wasn't the issue"

Our whole journey just got a whole lot more complicated. And Liam told them I don't feel comfortable going home I'm scared of dying and they STILL discharged us and now we have to go all the way to OKC whenever we can get a referral, we are so scared and now we have to go through a whole process with more testing and more unknown answers as of now we have a diagnosis of Crohn's, appendicitis and hernia in the esophagus but there's more going on and it's a whole mess and we still haven't gotten the biopsy results either.

We could use help and prayers now more than ever. Our child was neglected, treated like garbage, both Casey and were talked to like garbage. And our hospital advocate is fighting for us!! Please pray Liam's Crohn's doesn't make his appendix rupture and we can quickly get a referral and get to OKC. We've spent so much time fighting for our son to be heard. We need help now more than ever. I will always be the voice for my children. If anything happens from now til Liam gets his referral I will own that hospital. But we are headed home, he's still hurting and very uncomfortable and gave him nothing for the severe pain. I'm sick of our child being treated this way. NO CHILD SHOULD HAVE TO SUFFER LIKE LIAM IS.

Liam is CANCER FREE He has severe Crohn's and IBD but now their car has broke down 3 times during this process and now need to get another vehicle and pay rent and other bills and they still have a long road of appointments to OKC, treatments etc. and we appreciate everyone who's donated and prayed so far!
