Support Liam's Remarkable Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On June 3rd, 2024, our youngest son, Liam, suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury that was initially expected to be fatal within three days. However, against all odds, Liam has shown incredible strength and continues to fight, defying the medical team’s predictions.
Liam has lost all hearing in his left ear due to the connection between his ear and brain stem was shattered and has facial nerve was damaged on the left side, which might be repairable in the future. It’s uncertain if he will regain vision in his left eye, but he can see and focus with his right eye.
Liam’s journey will be long and challenging, but our family is committed to being by his side every day, providing support and advocacy. Although the long-term outcome remains uncertain, Liam has already surpassed expectations. Before being taken off the ventilator, he showed significant movement on his left side and even managed to lift his right leg and gesture with his left hand when a doctor doubted his ability to move his right side. He still has a feeding tube and a brain drain tube to relieve pressure. Physical therapy visits a few times a week, but he has not yet been able to sit up on his own.
We recently celebrated his 13th birthday, making it as joyous as possible.
Being a one-income household has its challenges. While it allows mom to be with Liam every day, it makes it difficult for dad to visit the hospital as often as he’d like due to financial constraints.
We are seeking assistance to help cover expenses such as gas, food, interactive therapeutic aids for Liam's rehabilitation, medical bills, and a wheelchair ramp to facilitate access to our home.
We appreciate and thank everyone for their support and well wishes during this difficult time.
