Support Liam's Comeback from Theft

Dear friends, family and other do-gooders.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Liam and I’m a photographer and videomaker based in Delft. On Saturday the 13th of April my backpack was stolen. It was filled with my lost valuable belongings, including my laptop, camera, two lenses, and hard drives with all my footage from 2024. I lost approximately 10k worth of equipment, irreplaceable footage both personal and professional, and find myself unable to work. It’s been a very scary, stressful and vulnerable past days. The hardest part has been telling my clients that their footage has been stolen.

The camera body was insured and luckily that will be replaced in the coming weeks. But in order to replace the rest of my equipment, and be able to work again, I will need some help. Some close friends advised me to make this fundraiser and if you are in the position to do so, I would be grateful for some small donations. Feel free to read the full story of what happened below:

The full story:
I arrived at 11:15 at my photography gig in the center of Delft. I placed my bag in the back room of the store. Both the store owner and I thought it was safe space. But the backdoor was cracked open for air circulation. While the bags were unattended, someone must have slipped through the back and grabbed my colleagues bag, along with mine.

After about 15 minutes we realized that both bags were missing and called the police. Together with the police, we used the FindMy app on my iPhone to try and track down the bag’s location. But we quickly saw the laptop and AirPods become separated on the map and the laptop was no longer transmitting its location. We chased the AirPod’s signal for about an hour before the police gave up. The signal always came from crowded areas and the police assumed that someone was just walking around with them in their pocket, making it near impossible to find.

The next morning a housemate and I tried to track down the AirPods again. This time we actually succeeded, finding them in the bag of some homeless people. They explained they found them that morning at the station’s tram stop.

This has been a heavy emotional and financial blow, and even small donations count for something.

My deepest gratitude,
Liam
