Support Liam's Battle Against MS

Hi, my name is Keely and I'm creating this GoFundMe for my partner Liam. Liam is 30 years old and born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Liam was diagnosed with relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (MS) roughly three years ago; in the past year the infusions he was doing for his MS have stopped working. He now has the diagnosis of progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In result, Liam has been experiencing constant "flare ups" for the past year. Which means his MS is aggressively attacking his immune system affecting his mobility, speech, and cognitive ability. Rendering him to be disabled ultimately for the past year. Due to the aggression of his MS and speed of it he was given a “last resort” treatment option.

The treatment is called AHSCT – AHSTC aims to reset his immune system with the end goal of stopping the progression of his MS.

Hematopoietic stem cells will be taken from his bone marrow, then chemotherapy is administered for several days to wipe out his immune system. He will be hospitalized for one month and the recovery is approximately 6-months after hospitalization. The recovery is extremely physically and mentally intense. Liam will essentially be put under a quarantine for those 6 months- where he will be unable to work.

One in one hundred patients die from this treatment and there are no guarantees- but as mentioned earlier its Liams "last resort".

Unfortunately, the treatment is not covered by insurance as it is not FDA approved so he will go to the UK where it will be a bit less but still $120,000.

If anyone can help at all we would really appreciate it, besides the treatments there are so many expenses attached to the recovery for Liam. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
