For those of you who may not know, Liam was diagnosed with Ependymoma, a rare type of tumor that grows in the brain or spinal cord, at just 10 months old, and since then (now 12 years old) he has faced an unimaginable journey. He has undergone five brain surgeries, including one for Chiari malformation, endured chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant. He has dealt with lasting side effects such as hearing loss, cataracts as well as others. Despite these challenges, he has shown incredible resilience, and for the past couple of years, we were hopeful as his tumor remained stable.
Unfortunately, Liam recently developed a new tumor in the pontomedullary region of his brain. He has been battling daily nausea, vomiting, poor balance, and an unsteady gait. He has been undergoing oral chemotherapy for several months. Despite his strength, the tumor continues to grow. As a result, Liam is beginning radiation treatment at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.
As my sister stays by Liam’s side, we are asking for help to cover essential expenses such as travel, and daily needs during this difficult time as well as incoming medical bills. Alisha has been unable to work for the last several months due to his complications and him needing care at home. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden so she can focus entirely on Liam’s care and well-being.
If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you keep Liam in your thoughts and prayers and share this page to spread the word.
