I am raising money to help my friend and his family through a particularly hard and challenging time. My friends Scott and Laura's son, Liam, was struck by a car in late 2025. In addition to helping their son through the healing process, Scott and Laura have had to manage medical bills, unpaid time off from work, and a variety of other challenges to make sure Liam gets the best care possible to help in his recovery. Every dollar helps. Please see the below message from Scott and Laura:
Our son, Liam, was recently involved in a serious traffic versus pedestrian collision while walking to school. He was struck by a truck while crossing the street on a green light in a designated crosswalk. Following the impact he was subsequently run over, resulting in multiple traumatic injuries that required emergency medical care, surgical treatment, and several days of hospitalization. He is now continuing his recovery at home under ongoing medical supervision.
Liam is only 11 years old. While we are incredibly grateful for the care he has received and remain hopeful for his recovery, injuries of this severity can carry uncertainty — particularly as a child continues to grow and develop. Some effects of traumatic injuries may not become apparent immediately, and additional medical care, therapy, or follow-up treatment could be needed in the future.
It appears the available auto insurance coverage related to this incident is limited, and may not fully account for future medical needs that could arise over time. For this reason, we are creating this fundraiser to help ensure that Liam has access to any necessary medical care, rehabilitation, or support in the future — without the added burden of financial hardship as he continues to heal and grow.
All funds raised will be reserved specifically for future medical-related expenses, including follow-up care, therapy, rehabilitation, or other health-related needs that may arise as a result of this injury. While we remain optimistic about Liam’s recovery, we also believe it is important to plan responsibly for any potential long-term effects associated with serious childhood injuries.
We are deeply thankful for the kindness, encouragement, and support our family has received during this difficult time. Whether through a donation or by sharing this page, your support helps us focus on Liam’s recovery and future well-being.
Thank you for helping us care for Liam’s future.
