Hi my name is Shanise, partner of Li Dewley-Vokes.

On the evening of the 26th of September in Atherton, Li was involved in a serious accident absolutely at no fault of his.

Li had been spending time with myself and two family members at Theo’s Bar, and was the designated sober driver for the night. When the evening came to an end, Li was outside putting our dog, Scout, into the tray of his vehicle when he was struck by another vehicle by a driver under the influence, leaving him pinned between both vehicles.

The accident has left Li with severe injuries to both legs below the knees and a long and difficult road ahead of him, mentally and physically, He is currently facing extensive recovery and rehabilitation, with no clear timeframe for when he will be able to return to work.

Li is a hard-working person who absolutely loves what he does. He works for Quality Sheds as a concreter on the Atherton Tableland's and takes great pride in his job. Being unable to work for the foreseeable future will not only be incredibly difficult for him personally, but will also place significant financial pressure on him and myself during an already challenging time.

Li will require ongoing support and care, and I will be taking on the partial role of his carer while he works towards getting back on his feet.

Throughout his recovery, Li will need time, patience and support as he faces the challenges that come with his injuries and rehabilitation.

Anyone who knows Li knows that he is one of those people who would never hesitate to lend a hand. He has an outgoing personality, a big heart, and is someone you can count on no matter what you need. He is always willing to help others without expecting anything in return.

Now, Li is the one who needs a helping hand.

We are hoping to raise funds to help Li through the financial pressure that comes with this unexpected accident and the long recovery ahead. Donations will help with everyday living expenses, medical and rehabilitation-related costs, transport, legal costs and other expenses that may arise while Li is unable to work.
