Support Lexi's Recovery from TBI -Motorcycle vs Deer
Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Lexi Smith, was the passenger on a motorcycle that struck a deer. She was thrown from the bike and suffered multiple broken bones and various other injuries. Lexi suffered severe head trauma and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Lexi has been unresponsive since the accident, but in the last couple of days, she started following some commands and opened her eyes herself a few times.
She has 2 young daughters and a step-daughter who are missing their mom, who will be in the hospital and then rehab for many months, possibly a year. We don't know yet how she will progress or to what extent she'll recover, but we know it'll be a very long and difficult journey.
Lexi is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and had recently moved into her dream job of helping babies in the NICU. With the extensive medical bills and loss of income, she will need all the support she can get, until hopefully she can to get back helping patients, rather than being one. All donations will be used to help with the immense cost of her medical care, lodging and basic living expenses while in rehab, and other necessities.
We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and concern for, Lexi and her family. It's truly amazing to witness and we can't wait to be able tell her how loved she is!
