Lexi is Vice President of WA's Pre Med Club. We are very proud of her, her classmates, teachers, and volunteers for doing a mission trip to Guatemala next month.
We would graciously appreciate support in one of either ways:
- Donation directly to Lexi towards her costs of the trip
- $160 donation (or partial and designate that please) towards the purchase of a stove. I promise donations for stoves will not go towards Lexi's trip costs
- If donations to Lexi's trip exceed the cost of her trip, we will use excess funds to go towards more stoves
Information about the trip:
Despite its beauty, Guatemala faces severe environmental and economic challenges. The 2018 volcanic eruptions devastated Indigenous Mayan communities, leaving villages in ash and families grieving. Many struggle to afford food, shelter, and essentials like stoves. Children are especially vulnerable, lacking proper nutrition, healthcare, and dental care, while preventable diseases remain a major concern.
Mission: Our mission as Christians is to impact the world for God’s glory, serving as His hands and feet to those in need. WA Pre-Med students have ambitious dreams of addressing medical challenges and being part of the solution. While transforming the world is a monumental task, participating in medical trips abroad is a significant step in the right direction. Many communities around the globe struggle to provide adequate healthcare, relying on much-needed support from the international community. Through these trips, we will help provide essential resources and aid. We believe that through volunteer service, we can make a meaningful difference.
Information about the stoves:
By providing these villages with new stoves, we will be helping families cook meals safely and contributing to the community's overall health. Our goal as the Pre-med Club is to raise enough to be able to install at least 20 wood stoves for an indigenous community in Guatemala.
