I am the mother of Alexis Wilson, a 19-year-old killed by Dolton IL police on 7.27.21. On that horrific evening, there was an officer present by the name of Ryan Perez, A serial killer cop. This officer escalated the situation by punching Alexis in her face while holding his flashlight, within 52 seconds of his arrival. Alexis was dead within 1 minute, another officer entered the vehicle, sitting next Alexis. He proceeded to shoot her 7x. 2 in her head.. She was DOA.
Alexis lost her life in a hail of bullets while she pleaded with her killers.. to no avail..
Alexis' death has been the most horrific event suffered by her family. In her loss, we celebrate her life each year with a butterfly release. We release 500 butterflies in mass and hand out at least 100 to be released individually and simultaneously. We provide food, drinks and music.
For Christmas, Forever Lexi Foundation sends self-care gift boxes to other mothers suffering the loss of their child at the hands of the police. The box contains, candles, self-care guides, fuzzy socks, bath bombs, a coffee mug or thermos, hot chocolate bombs, chapstick, and hydrating face/eye masks. The most precious gift in this box is an item with their child's image. I want to increase the number of boxes each year. Christmas of 2023, 15 mothers received this gift. But there are so many more....
Alexis was preparing to open her own Lash Studio. She had purchased the equipment and was preparing her space. Alexis never had a chance to fulfill that dream. THE Forever Lexi Foundation also sends scholarship recipients to receive their Lash tech certification and purchases equipment to get their business started..
The Forever Lexi Foundation will begin Mothers Day initiatives in 2025 for other mothers impacted by police brutality..
