Hi everyone,
We are reaching out to you today with a sense of urgency and hope for our dear friend Lexi. Lexi has worked in Chiang Mai since 2012, originally moving to work for an NGO. She's since worked in education, taught and also volunteered with local groups throughout this time, including multiple animal rescue organisations as well as those supporting people.
Recently, Lexi received the life-altering diagnosis of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).
TNBC is a fast-moving and aggressive form of cancer that requires immediate, intensive intervention. While her citizenship is in the UK, returning there for treatment is currently impossible. Her primary support system is here, and only housing option in the UK (her mother’s home) is no longer viable, for to get mothers health conditions and advanced age. This leaves her with no choice but to undergo life-saving treatment where she is currently located: Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The Mountain We Need to Climb: Because her insurance doesn't fund cancer treatment, Lexi must self-fund her entire medical journey. In Thailand, the standard of care for TNBC is world-class, but it comes with a high price tag. Her oncologist has outlined a grueling 12-to-18-month roadmap:
Phase 1: 6 months of intensive Chemotherapy combined with Immunotherapy.
Phase 2: Major surgery (Mastectomy/Lumpectomy) with reconstruction.
Phase 3: A further 6 months of Immunotherapy and potentially more Chemotherapy to ensure the cancer does not return.
The Financial Goal: The estimated cost for this full protocol is expected to exceed 2,000,000 Thai Baht (over £45,000 / $55,000).
This covers hospital stays, specialized immunotherapy drugs (which are vital for TNBC survival rates), surgical fees, and the diagnostic scans required to monitor her progress. Lost income due to being unable to work is not counted in this total, but her daily living expenses remain. Lexi is a fighter, but no one can fight a battle this big—and this expensive—alone.
How You Can Help: We know times are tough for everyone, but any contribution will go directly toward Lexi's medical bills and keep her in the fight.
Donate: No amount is too small. Every Pound, Baht, or Dollar buys a round of meds or a vital scan.
Share: Even if you cannot donate, sharing this link on your social media or with your network makes a massive difference.
Lexi has always been the first person to step up for others, whether human or animal. Now, it’s our turn to be her safety net. Let’s help her get the treatment she needs so she can focus on healing and getting back to the person we all know and love.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
