On Monday, February 17, Katie took Lexi to the Lebanon Emergency Room. Lexi hadn't been feeling well intermittently and had also been complaining about leg pain. They didn't know that this would be the beginning of a long journey for them, one that nobody ever wants to experience, especially on the tail of Katie's battle with breast cancer.
After a lot of tests and imaging, Lexi has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. She is currently at Randall's Children's Hospital in Portland. The plan is for her to start chemotherapy on Monday, 2/24.
Let's help support Lexi and this wonderful family! Leon has already missed a week of work, and it would be amazing if he could spend more time up in Portland with Lexi and Katie. There will be a lot of travel back and forth for them, as well as other costs associated with being away from home. And we all know that medical bills are not cheap, and they will start rolling in soon. Let's help them feel the love during this very difficult time!
From Katie: We would love for you to follow us on this journey as we pray for God to help us each step of the way and put us down the path He wants us to go. We do feel the prayers and believe we are walking the path He wants us to be on and take for Lexi. Many of you have reached out and want to help, which is why this is being set up.
