On Monday April 6, 2026, our beloved Lexie, a devoted mother to her young son, a loving partner, and the heart behind her small business, Lexie’s Sweet Treats, was involved in a devastating accident on her way to work. In an instant, everything changed.
She suffered severe spinal injuries requiring emergency surgery. Doctors have shared that her injuries are life-altering, and she is expected to face significant, long-term mobility challenges, with a high likelihood that she will need to rely on a wheelchair as she adjusts to a new way of living.
As a young family working hard to build their life together, they are now facing an overwhelming physical, emotional, and financial reality no one could have prepared for.
Despite everything, Lexie is showing incredible strength and resilience and remains in good spirits as she begins this difficult journey.
Her Family
Lexie is not only a young woman with her whole life ahead of her, but she is also a loving mother to her young son who needs her more than ever.
She is incredibly hardworking and passionate, balancing her job while also building her own baking business, “Lexie’s Sweet Treats,” something she has poured her heart into and takes great pride in.
Her partner, who has also overcome significant physical challenges from a past accident, is by her side supporting her through this.
Together, they have been working hard to build a life for their family, making this sudden and life-changing situation even more difficult as they now face both medical challenges and disruptions to their livelihoods.
In an act of love and support, her parents recently relocated to the Austin area to be closer to their daughters and help their family grow together. Just days after making that significant move, this tragedy occurred.
The Road Ahead
Lexie’s injuries are severe, and her recovery will require significant care and support.
She will need inpatient rehabilitation following her hospital stay, along with ongoing therapy, specialized equipment, and long-term support.
There are also gaps in insurance coverage, which make accessing the full scope of care she needs even more challenging.
