My name is Lexi Ashcraft, and on January 6th, 2025, at around 6:25 AM, I woke up to a popping sound and looked out of my bedroom window to see one of the cars in our driveway engulfed in flames. While we attempted to put out the fire with two household fire extinguishers with no luck, I called 911. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, it took emergency services at least 20 minutes to arrive to assess the situation and begin battling the fire. By 6:45, the fire had spread to our carport and house. The fire has left damage to the side of our house and our kitchen ceiling, as well as electrical wiring for our lights. The fire department did everything they could to prevent the fire from spreading further and luckily did not spread to our neighbor's home. No one was injured in the fire; however, this has added additional inconveniences as nearing the 14th of January will mark four years since my beloved father, Michael Ashcraft, passed. As my family navigates this tough time, all we ask for is prayers. I am just thankful I woke up and alerted authorities before the fire spread to our home. We do have two dogs, a cat, and a monitor lizard, all of which are safe and sound, and we couldn’t be more thankful to be alive today.
