Support Lewis: A Gentle Pup in Need

Donation protected
Update: We have met our goal! Thank you to everyone who donated and shared. Hoping Lewis will be going to his forever home this weekend!

Update: I have a local family who will hopefully be adopting Lewis! Unfortunately, things did not work out at the low cost vet clinic due to miscommunication and I have decided to take him to the wonderful URVet clinic to get Lewis situated. If I wait for the low cost vet programs, even for wellness and vaccines, Lewis would not be seen until end of October up to December for some clinics. It does cost more but at least he will be ready for his forever family.

Update: his poor ears needed more attention and they had to cut off a little bit more to get the sutures out. He will need a follow up visit since they were not able to get them all out.

Neuter: On hold due to vet recommendation
Vet/Testing/Vaccines/Meds/Microchip: 1000+
Crate: $105

Thank you everyone for donating and sharing!

Found this poor baby all alone in Carl Shurz Park on Labor Day Weekend. I called 311 and ACC who advised me to reach out to rescues directly which I have done. I will be taking care of him until I hear from them and they can find a foster/forever home.

Fortunately, the vet I took him to gave him a look over for free and said that his poorly cropped ears do not look infected and just need to be kept clean. They think he’s about 6 months old and could be a Cane Corso or Presa Canario. His tail is not docked. No bloodwork or testing was done as it was a courtesy visit. Since we’ve been home, he’s been urinating an abnormal amount so I want to take him to the vet again. No microchip. Intact.

But for now, he is safe and is with me. I know how difficult it can be to foster/adopt out these breeds and I’m not willing to just give him out to anyone. My 7 year old nephew has been playing with him, he is gentle, has not barked or shown any aggression. My nephew took a ball out from his mouth and he was fine with it. He did not go after my cat so I think little to no prey drive and is getting along fine with my 13 year old pup.

I temporarily named him Lewis!

Unfortunately, I am not in a financial position to take on another dog and would greatly appreciate if you had it in your heart to spare a few dollars for some more supplies and food and a real vet visit/neutering. I also don’t know how long I will have to keep him.

I bought about $100 of food and $50 of supplies (cleaner/pee pads/diapers).

I appreciate and thank you in advance!
