Support Levi's Fight for Life

Donation protected

We need your help! My grandson Levi, who is just 6 days old, is in the hospital, on ECMO, for a cardiac condition. This began at 3 days old. My daughter, LaDonna, is a stay at home mom with 6 children (3 under 4 years old). My son in law Jesse is an amazing sales rep, but due to market decline, lost his job 3 weeks ago. My family needs help. They are beautiful family of 8, who are faithful God loving people. They are going to need help with food and mortgage, and doctors bills.

I am going to paste my son in law's Facebook post, for more explanation of Levi's condition;

LaDonna Sault and I know there are a lot of updates being given about how things are going with Levi. I want to give a few updates as well as praises to Yahweh.

1. Saturday, we took Levi into Edward Hospitals Emergency Department. We went there because Levi was having labored breathing and was not eating.

Edward has a Nicu ward that is also really good, so we figured they could care for Levi if it was more than something small.

There was no room at the Inn, so to speak, for Levi, and we needed to be admitted as the doctors agreed Levi is more than a little sick.

2. We were transfered to Lurie's children's hospital in Chicago late Saturday night.

At 2:30 AM, we received, arguably, the hardest news we have ever heard for our family. Levi's heart has a defect in an artery leading away from it to the body. There is a narrowing causing a blood traffick jamb, and it sent him into shock due to lack of O2 being sent while also having a slightly smaller left Ventricle trying to send the blood out.

He will need hear surgery to fix the issue.

3. Beyond that, he had issues being cause by the lack of oxygen in his liver and kidneys primarily, and he has toxins that were being elevated due to his filters not working at full capacity. For the surgery to be as safe as possible, these toxins need to come down.

4. Yesterday, mid afternoon, Levi gave us another scare with an unexpected cardiac arrest. He needed help breathing and chect compressions.

He was placed on a life support system that is now helping his heart rest and oxygenation his blood as his lungs are effected as well.

We thought this might have also given him a stroke, but blessings abound as his brain scans came back negative, and surgery was not needed emergency style last night!

Praises to our Father God!

1. No room at Edward opened up needing another place. Luries was able TO TAKE US, and we didn't know that it is the #1 hospital in the nation for pediatric care.

God provides!

2. Family stepping in and helping. My parents were here and have decided to stay until things settle and stabilizes out, and brothers and sisters providing food, care, and comfort for our family and us.

God provides again!

3. Church family and friends. The outpouring of God's people have blessed us in more ways that we could have imagined! Food, gift cards, prayers, encouragements, visits, care, babysitting, everything! Truly, I cannot tag everyone as there are too many blessings to count from the body of Christ.

This is what God designed the church to be and the body of Christ is working!

God provides again!

4. A timely visit from pastor Brian Bougher providing love and encouragement right when we couldn't be in the room with Levi.

God provides again!

5. Bible passages that come at a timely manner. Psalm 77 came up on my Bible in a year devotional right after the hardest part of yesterday, and reading it brought us to our knees in prayer and praises for God's mercy. He may not be vocal about his presence with us, but he is there and working. We are seeing it every day, sometimes it just takes a look back to see His actions guiding us where we need to be.

Yahweh provides again!

When we read to Praise God in all things, we are learning how to do so in trials and storms.

Peace is there in the chaos.

Love in a seeming void.

Joy in the heartbreak.

Patience in the rush.

Kindness when the world attacks.

Goodness in the fallen world.

Gentleness in the pain.

Self control when emotions overload.

Please pray for my family and, if you can, donate.

Thank you in advance!

Happy holidays to you and yours.
