Support Leukemia Warrior's Fight for Life
Donation protected
My name is Candace Fair, and I was diagnosed with leukemia in July of 2023. My journey has consisted of chemo treatments at City of Hope and Mayo Hospital. I have had a bone marrow transplant and weekly radiation treatments. When I was first diagnosed, I didn't respond well to the chemo. My body turned purple, I went into a coma for two weeks, and almost died. I've been hospitalized numerous times since the journey began, mainly for GVHD infection (a deadly infection common for people with leukemia). I've had this condition four times and have had pneumonia twice.
Since being diagnosed, I took sick leave from work and lost over half of my income. Fortunately, I was blessed to receive assistance from different cancer foundations along with family support, which helped get me through. This was a blessing, but the donations have come to an end.
With that being said, I don't have enough money to pay my monthly bills. My rent is $1,750, my car note is $430, my car insurance is $200, my power bill is $100, my internet bill is $100, and my cell phone bill is $130. The multiple infections I've endured have damaged my eyes, and now I need glasses, but cannot afford them.
The need is to be able to pay my bills until I can return to work, which, God-willing, will be soon. Any amount you can donate is appreciated.
