Support Lethan Wilks, Jr.'s Journey to Medical Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Lethan Wilks, Jr. My goal is to bring attention to my medical situation. I decided to display a picture of my face to make my story more real and relatable.
After reading my story and assessing my situation, my goal is to receive donations from those who ho have the ability to donate. Therefore give from your heart and please help me reach my goal.
On December 16, 2024 my life was turned upside down. I was taken by emergency services from my home to the emergency department at Tacoma General Hospital. Even after already medically dealing with Cancer, uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 with an A1c of 14.7% and on 4 diabetic medications, a diabetic toe ulcer in which I almost lost my right foot, Hypertension, and severe depression, I was diagnosed with severe pneumonia in both lungs and severe sepsis. In a span of 48 hours time I nearly lost my life because my body just started shutting down.
I had help from many medical specialists who gave me many antibiotics thru an IV, ran multiple blood tests, and ran multiple MRI’s and computer tomography scans with and without contrast in 48 hours. My life flashed before my eyes but with the help of Tacoma General Hospital I slowly started recovering. Eventually I was released from the hospital.
However I still have a long road to recovery. I am currently resting at home but the doctors say my recovery from the damage from sepsis and pneumonia may take about a years time or that because sepsis did such damage to me that my organs mainly my kidneys and lung function may never be fully what they once were and because my kidneys took such a heavy hit from the sepsis poisoning that eventually I might have to go on dialysis and need a kidney transplant.
While I was happy to be released I am very worried about what my future looks like. I am so down but I have to remain optimistic and have a positive outlook on life.
This I am asking that with your donations you assist me in staying healthy. Your donation will help me in accomplishing the necessary day to day activities to help in my recovery. Your donation will make the daily necessities achievable. I am very appreciative of any support and I am truly thankful. If you are able to forward my story to others I suggest you pass this on. If
Please continue praying for me as I have a long road to recovery but hopefully with your donations and pledges I will be able to get there.
