Help us help Lester!

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help for our beloved Lester. As many of you know, Lester has been bravely battling Parkinson’s disease, a condition that has no cure and managing the painful symptoms requires a comprehensive approach involving expensive medication, physical therapy, and specialized care. Lester’s condition has worsened in recent months. He has suffered multiple falls, leading to several hospital stays, and his health continues to decline putting him in critical condition.

Parkinson’s is not just a physical battle but also an emotional and mental one. It impacts every aspect of life from simple tasks, like getting dressed and grooming, to more complex activities like walking, bathing,toileting, etc. Without the proper rehabilitation Lester faces an uncertain future, and the risk of further loss of independence, and the deterioration is real.

Right now, Lester is in urgent need of specialized rehabilitation to regain his strength and improve his quality of life. However, the facility where he’s currently receiving care is planning to discharge him on Friday 8/23 because he has reached the cap on his insurance coverage. The only other facility capable of providing the intensive rehabilitation and daily assistance he requires needs to be paid out of pocket.

This is where we need your support. Lester has always been the kindest person eager to help others in their time of need, whether it was offering a helping hand or opening his home and heart to anyone in need. Growing up I don’t ever remember a time living with just my brother my mom and my dad. My parents opened their home to uncles, cousins, friends of the family, at one point even a stranger who had nowhere to stay we never lived alone. My dad would literally give the shirt off his back if you needed it. Now, he needs that same kindness and generosity in return.

We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of the rehabilitation facility that can truly help him get back on his feet and hopefully eventually return home. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in his life.
