Support Lesli's Battle Against Cancer

Our dear friend Lesli is a devoted wife, a loving mother of six, and one of the strongest women we know. She has always put her family first—cooking meals, homeschooling her kids, supporting her husband as he went through military training, all while still being the best friend anyone could ask for. But now, Lesli needs us to show up for her.

In February 2024, Lesli began feeling unwell. After multiple visits to doctors, she was told she had a bad gallbladder. On July 16th, she had it removed in what was supposed to be a routine outpatient surgery. But soon, she became dangerously ill and was rushed to the hospital.

On July 19th, everything changed. Doctors diagnosed Lesli with Stage 3 colon cancer. She underwent immediate surgery to remove the cancer, but serious complications followed. A second surgery was needed, and Lesli was left with an ileostomy bag—a major life adjustment for any person, let alone a mother with six children.

While recovering and preparing for treatment, her condition worsened. Further scans revealed cancerous lesions in her liver, upgrading her diagnosis to Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer.

Lesli began an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, but the toll on her body was severe. Her kidneys and liver were significantly impacted, and recently her doctors made the difficult decision to discontinue chemo due to the risks and the lack of effectiveness.

Now, Lesli and her husband Ken are exploring alternative treatment options—some of which show promise, but none of which are covered by insurance. These treatments are expensive, experimental, and financially out of reach without help.

Ken has taken many unpaid days off to be at Lesli’s side through hospital stays, surgeries, and treatments, all while trying to keep life steady for their children.

They’re fighters. But they can’t do this alone.
