Leslie’s Journey Through Breast Cancer: Surrounding Her With Support

There are moments in life when words never feel big enough for what someone means to you. My best friend, Leslie, is one of those people.

Leslie is the kind of woman who shows up for everyone she loves with kindness, strength, laughter, and a heart that never stops giving. Even in the middle of her own pain, she still thinks of others first. That’s simply who she is.

Recently, Leslie was diagnosed with Stage 3, Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer that requires immediate and intensive treatment.

Her treatment plan is extensive and demanding:

12 weeks of weekly chemotherapy

Another 12 weeks of AC chemotherapy every 3 weeks

Surgery with reconstruction to follow

Alongside navigating appointments, treatments, and the emotional weight of this diagnosis, Leslie was also recently let go from her job after needing time away for medical care. While understandable given the circumstances, it has added an overwhelming financial burden during this already unimaginable season.

The stress of work, long commutes, and trying to push through while managing her health became more than anyone should have to carry. Now, her full focus needs to be on healing.

This GoFundMe has been created to allow Leslie to feel supported, not just emotionally, but practically, so she can move through treatment without the constant fear of how medical bills, lost income, and daily expenses will be covered.

Leslie is also a devoted mother. She has one child currently in college and another preparing to enter college soon, and her greatest wish is to continue showing up for them with stability, love, and presence through this journey and beyond.
