Supporting Dan after the loss of beloved Leslie Morales

Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that Leslie passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, surrounded by her loving family.

While our original goal was to help fund experimental treatment in Mexico, those plans were tragically cut short. The funds raised will now go toward covering funeral expenses and supporting Dan with essential living costs as he navigates this heartbreaking loss.

We are so grateful for the love, prayers, and support you’ve shown throughout Leslie’s fight. Your generosity has meant more than words can express. Please continue to keep Dan and their family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

With love and gratitude,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits on behalf of our beloved friend and coworker, Leslie, who has been courageously battling cancer for over two years. Despite enduring countless treatments, procedures, and hospital stays with unwavering strength and grace, Leslie’s fight is far from over.

After exhausting all standard treatment options available in the United States, Leslie and her medical team are now exploring an experimental treatment program abroad that offers a renewed sense of hope. This next step could be life-changing — but it comes at a significant cost, including medical expenses, travel, lodging, and ongoing care.

We are rallying together to support Leslie and Dan in this critical moment. Your donation, no matter the size, will directly fund their access to this potentially life-saving treatment and provide them with the chance they deserve — a chance to keep fighting, to keep living, and to continue being the amazing light in our lives that they’ve always been.

Leslie has given so much to others — showing kindness, resilience, and compassion in ways that have touched us all. Now it’s our turn to give back.

Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Every contribution and every share gets us one step closer to giving Leslie and her family hope. Funds raised will go to The Morales Family and may be used for treatment, traveling, or personal bills etc.

With gratitude,
On behalf of The Morales Family

Below is a post Leslie made after her first year of treatment to help give a back story if you were not aware-

On May 1, 2023, I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke due to a brain tumor that metastasized from the breast cancer that I had in 2019. The medical team explained that they would need to remove the brain tumor and evacuate the blood but didn’t know whether or not I would survive the operation let alone, what my quality of life would look like. After the medical team agreed to proceed with the surgery they told Dan and I all the risks associated with the operation. I don’t remember exactly what they said other than death was a high risk and even with surgery, my life expectancy would be about 1 year.
What I do remember, was the room being full of people that love me, praying over me and my wonderful neurosurgeon being present. Fast forward, a year later I write this still in awe that I’m alive. I know if it were not for God putting me at the right place at the right time (I had the stroke at work ), I would not be here right now. He’s not done with me yet. I still have hope of making more progress not because of my own strength but because what He provides.

”For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.“
‭‭Job‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This year has been full of ups and downs, I mean.. tons of struggles. I’ve had to learn how to talk and walk again, how to properly use a wheelchair and a cane. I’ve had to learn how to take care of myself with right side weakness (cue the endless details that goes into each day just to get ready and conquer the day) safely and with minimal assistance.
I’ve had radiation to my brain, a few scares that required ER visits, countless appointments, imaging, lab draws, medication & radiation side effects, phone calls to advocate for my health and occupational, physical, speech therapy rehab!
”The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭28‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Dan has been AMAZING through this.. he does not get the credit he deserves for being by my side during those dark days, caring for his disabled wife, taking on the the responsibilities of the household, taking care of our family, being a chauffeur and caring for my mental, physical, spiritual health. He does it all with so much grace and compassion.

Huge shoutout to my dear children, family, friends, and work families who have come to our aid in this difficult time. We are truly blessed and grateful for the support.
Here’s just a glimpse of what life has been like this year.
