Help Support Leslie Guzzone’s Recovery
On the morning of July 21st, our beloved Leslie Guzzone, just 50 years old, suffered a sudden and severe stroke. Her husband, Ben, found her collapsed in their backyard, with her loyal dogs by her side. Thanks to Ben and their son Brayden’s quick thinking, Jacksonville Fire & Rescue (JFRD) arrived within five minutes. She was rushed to Memorial Hospital, immediately scanned, and taken into emergency surgery.
Dr. Ravi Pande and his incredible team successfully removed a large clot from the left M1 section of Leslie’s brain—located just behind her eye. The days that followed were difficult, filled with confusion, intense monitoring, tests, and uncertainty. After a week in the Critical Care Unit and Trauma Floor, Leslie was finally strong enough to return home.
We are still asking ourselves, “Why Leslie?” But what we do know is this: by the grace of God, we didn’t lose her. She is still with us—fighting, healing, and beginning her road to recovery.
Leslie is one of the strongest people we know. She is a daughter, wife, mother, teacher, coach, loyal friend, traveler, book club enthusiast, small-dog mama, Sunday hiker, and DIY powerhouse. She’s a proud graduate of and lifelong teacher and coach at Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, FL—a Saint through and through. For years, Leslie has been a cheerleader, advocate, and rock for her community, her students, her family, and her friends.
Now, it’s our turn to support her.
As Leslie navigates the physical and emotional challenges ahead, we want to ease one burden she shouldn’t have to face: financial stress. This fundraiser is being organized by her family to support Leslie in any way she needs—whether it’s medical expenses, therapy, time away from work, or just daily living costs while she recovers. Every dollar raised will go directly into her account.
We know Leslie will face this new challenge with the same strength and determination she’s shown all her life. But she doesn’t have to do it alone.
If you're able to contribute, no matter the amount, we are deeply grateful. If you’re not in a position to give, please consider leaving her a message of love and encouragement here, or on her Facebook or Instagram.
Your prayers, support, and kind words mean the world to Leslie and her family. Thank you for standing beside her as she begins this next chapter.
