My name is Les Swartout. Last year in September, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I received surgery and had it removed. I was cancer-free for about 6 weeks, and around Christmas time, I was having issues and returned to the ER, only to be informed I now have acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I went through my first treatment; it not only failed but it further spread. It was quite painful, and I was going to go to hospice when I met with my doctors to be informed they wanted to try another treatment plan. I was not sure if I wanted to go through another treatment plan, but at this point, it worked, or I had a short time to live. Out of options, I was put on a second treatment plan, which seemed to be working until the side effects caught up to me and caused me to have a heart attack 3 weeks ago. This was the last treatment plan that may or may not have worked. I now face a stem cell transplant in about 2 months, and the bills are piling up. Without options, I was informed to try this for help, and here I am.
