My wife and I recently stumbled upon an abandoned house sheltering a group of stray cats. We started leaving food for them every night and mostly watched from afar as the cats cautiously approached our offerings. But one day, we noticed a small figure lying motionless beneath a nearby car—a scrawny orange tabby, seemingly lifeless.
With heavy hearts, we slowly approached, fearing the worst. But as we got close, the little body stirred and, with what seemed like tremendous effort, got up to greet us. His will to survive was immediately clear, and that's why we decided to name him Leo—our lion-hearted fighter.
Unlike the other strays, Leo shows an extraordinary trust in humans, leading us to believe he may have once known the warmth of a loving home. But life on the streets has taken its toll. Leo is in desperate need of medical attention and care, and his health has been visibly deteriorating week over week.
