Hi, my name is Liz, and I’m creating this fundraiser to support my grandson, Leo, and my daughter, Michelle. Leo is 9 years old and will be undergoing open heart surgery this Wednesday. He has faced serious heart-related medical challenges since birth, including open heart surgery as a newborn. After a procedure in September to try to enlarge his arteries did not work as hoped, his doctors have determined that another open-heart surgery is necessary. Leo is expected to be in the hospital for about a week, followed by a prolonged recovery period that includes time at home and six weeks of very strict physical restrictions. This recovery will require ongoing medical follow-ups and careful support.

During Leo’s surgery and recovery period, Michelle will need to significantly reduce her availability for work due to medical appointments, caregiving responsibilities, and the demands of supporting Leo through recovery. As a single mom who is already struggling financially, this will result in a loss of income while additional expenses continue to arise. These expenses include hospital parking and meals while supporting Leo during his hospital stay, along with ongoing household and child-related costs that continue at home.

Michelle is a devoted mother who always puts her children first. Right now, our family is asking for support so she can focus on helping Leo recover without the added stress of financial strain.
