Support Baby Leo's Brave (Open) Heart Surgery Journey

Welcome to the world Leonardo Leverone! As his name would suggest, Leo has proven to be a true Lion-hearted warrior who is fighting fiercely for his life since his first breath. Leo was born with a rare, massive congenital heart defect (Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV) with mitral and

aortic atresia) that went undetected during pregnancy, and will face many

battles ahead as a result of this condition. At 32 hours old, Leo was air lifted out of state for emergency open heart surgery. After a roller coaster of medical interventions, Leo is still fighting and is ready to face his next challenges: recovery and growth as he tiptoes into the real world. Leo’s journey has only just begun as he will need several more surgeries in the next few years, a second just in his first year, with a potential need for a heart transplant as he grows. As you can imagine, this journey has been any parent’s worst nightmare and has been an incredibly trying and painful time for the Leverone family. We’re asking for your support, big or small, through a donation to the Leverone family - any funds collected will go toward out of pocket deductibles for Leo, home care, medical equipment and out of state accommodations during the many follow-up visits to come in the next several months.
