Support Leo's Battle Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

On May 14th, just a few days after her birthday, our daughter, Leo, went to urgent care due to shoulder pain. Two days later, they sent her to get some x-rays taken and found an enlarged lymph node. The next day she got a CT scan, and the next week she was in surgery for a biopsy. The news came back to every parent’s worst nightmare. Leo was diagnosed with Stage 3S Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The cancer had spread on both sides of the center line, and to her spleen. Since then, she's had another surgery to install a port, and the first two of at least 12 chemotherapy infusions.

We are incredibly privileged to have exceptional insurance. And yet, even with that insurance, we have accrued over $6,000 in medical bills in the last 6 weeks - the first chemo treatment alone contributing more than $4,500 to that total.

Leo is a superstar about everything. She has displayed more courage and resilience than anyone could or should expect from a 14-year-old. Leo loves her cats. She loves art and astronomy. She loves Thai, Korean, and Japanese food. She loves Community and Legend of Korra. She is smart, funny, and a truly exceptional young woman. We know she will beat this. Donations will first go towards any outstanding or pending medical bills for Leo. Additional funds will be split 50/50 between savings for projected medical bills and other costs related to Leo's care and well-being.
