In the hours after Alex Pretti was murdered by Border Patrol agents in South Minneapolis, our 73 year old father Leon, like thousands of other concerned neighbors, hit the streets to express his outrage. While on the scene, federal agents fired a flash bang grenade directly at the crowd, striking Leon in the face and breaking his jaw in multiple places. He required extensive surgery with three plates added to reconstruct his jaw. He is currently at home recovering with his jaw wired shut.

Leon is a loving father and grandfather who cares deeply about our community. We are hesitant to ask for financial support when there is so much need, but we are a working class family without savings and the cost of surgery could be ruinous. Any and all donations received on this page beyond the cost of Leon’s medical bills will be used to support our immigrant neighbors in need of rent, food and bill assistance resulting from the federal occupation.
