After receiving permission from Katie, I asked if it would be okay for me to create this in hopes of getting them some supports for their dog after, Leon, a 2.5 year old frenchie, was hurt a few weeks ago.
While they were working in Minnesota a few weeks ago, Leon suffered a spinal cord injury that has left his back legs paralyzed.
Leon spent a week in the neurology hospital and undergoing countless tests, procedures and imaging. They monitored him and make sure the paralysis did not spread.
Unfortunately, he is not out of the woods yet. He requires 24-hour care, medical equipment, and incontinence supplies. He remains at risk of losing all mobility, and vets recently found a mass in his mouth that will require further testing.
As pet owners know, our animals are family—especially during major life transitions like moving to a new state. With Katie's permission, I have set up a GoFundMe page to help them cover these rapidly mounting vet bills.
We are asking for your support in any way possible. With access to the proper care, therapies, and equipment, the hope is that Leon will grow stronger and live a long, happy life scooting around on a new set of wheels.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
