Support Leon's Postoperative Recovery

Hi, my name is Matty. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my friend Leon, who is currently back in the hospital due to complications after their gender affirming surgery. They are working to grow stronger and healthier every day, but the path to recovery has been a particularly bumpy road. Due to extenuating circumstances, there have been innumerable setbacks. The goal of this fundraiser is to help Leon with their move and with life after they leave the hospital.

There is hope on the horizon. The amazing news? Recently, Leon was accepted into University of Nebraska Omaha's Counseling Program! Their goal after grad school is to help support and uplift LGBTQIA+ youth through their work. Any help that you are able to give will directly support someone in the LGBT community who is actively working to pay it forward. This is unsurprising given Leon’s history of activism and community engagement, not to mention their indefatigably kind spirit.

With recent unfortunate events, these plans are forced to be put on hold until Leon is able to raise adequate funds for moving costs, various bills, and expenses related to rebuilding their life in Omaha. We want to help support Leon, and set them up for success in their new home.

Whether or not you are lucky enough to know Leon personally, trust that they have touched many people's lives with their friendship, kindness, generosity, and humor. It is time to show up for them, if you are able. Thank you so much.
