Support Leon's Battle with Guillain-Barre Syndrome

My name is Roger, and let's be clear, this is NOT for me. I have someone very close to me who is probably too proud to ask for help. His name is Leon. I don't have too many people in my life, but Leon is one of them. Recently Leon has bee struck down with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) which has left him in ICU and respiratory care for more than 3 months. It's looking like its going to be a long road to recovery, with no clear end in sight.

To tell you more about Leon would take more time than you'd want to invest reading here. He came from a broken home in upstate NY. However, just like GBS won't, Leon wouldn't let that hold him back. He worked his way through college at Northeastern, earning a BS in Criminology. Later he developed a love for technology and became a highly sought after program manager in IT. All through Leon's journey in life, he sought better. A better life, better education, better future, but mostly - better for others. I met Leon years ago. To say he hasn't had a lasting impact on my life would be a disservice to what something beyond friendship could ever mean. I love the man.

When Leon was struck down, he was a lead PM on a contract, leaving him with no financial security. To top things off, his lovely wife (who I won't name here) had just completed her first round of chemotherapy for breast cancer. She is a strong woman and things are looking positive for her. However, as you can imagine, while raising a daughter, fighting cancer, and having a husband with an uncertain future, she is worn thin.

Therefore, I am asking anyone who can help a stranger, please help. I'm asking for any help for these amazing people and for their future. I realize that there are a lot of folks asking for help now; times are as hard as they've ever been. But honestly, without Leon, I don't know how my future would have turned out.
