Support Len's Battle Against Throat Cancer
Donation protected
We never ever thought we would be writing this.
At the end of February we found out Len has tonsil cancer. He had surgery on 3/12. In the surgery they found extensive stage 3 and 4 cancer in his lymph nodes, esophagus,
larynx, tongue, jawbone and nerves in the left side of his neck, etc.
Being self employed Len didn’t have health insurance and he’s not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid. We have been trying to pay for all of his appointments out of pocket.
The surgery was way beyond anything we could possibly afford. We were able to get an insurance policy from the Marketplace to hopefully cover radiation and chemo, however, our out of pocket expense will be $7500. Unfortunately the amounts that we are anticipating are so high we had to go with a deductible policy.
In addition to the $7500 we will have many more expenses to cover, gas, meals, medications, etc. In the next 60 days our expenses will be in excess of $10,000
We just put out $8000 since 12/18 trying to save our dog, Dundee.
We are humbly asking for donations to help us through this difficult time. We know money is tight for everyone right now. If you can’t afford to donate, please don’t. But if you can any small amount helps and would be greatly appreciated. We would be grateful if you could also forward this to other friends and family.
Radiation and chemo will be every day for the next 7-8 weeks. He will also be getting a PET scan around 4/11 to see how far the cancer has spread. We do know some cancer remains on his tongue.
Len has a long scary journey ahead. And financial worries are not helping his state of mind. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ~ Tammy, Len and The whole Bayne family.
