Support Lenny's Recovery from IVDD
Donation protected
Stephanie "Stevie" is a devoted dog mom and animal lover. This week, she received an unexpected diagnosis for her dog, Lenny. We learned Lenny has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), which is a spinal cord condition that affects dogs, causing pain, weakness, and sometimes paralysis. This is caused by a degeneration of the intervertebral discs (the cushions between the vertebrae), herniation, or rupture of the discs. In Lenny's case, he has a herniated disc that was causing him tremendous pain and an inability to walk or go to the bathroom on his own. Once the MRI confirmed this, he was immediately scheduled for and underwent laminectomy surgery. He will be staying at the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center for a few more days for post-surgery care and observation.
Lenny has a long road to recovery ahead and is at risk for degeneration in the future. Stevie will be taking great measures to see Lenny remains healthy with rest, pain relievers, physical therapy, and making any necessary adjustments to his diet. The costs for Lenny’s surgery, medical treatment, and care are now exceeding $10,000. We’re asking for your help to please support these costs for Stevie, a single dog mom, and her Lenny boy. Thank you so much.
