Nov 22, 2025 Update: Thank you for alll your donations thus far. As of today, funds received have been used to buy food items that are on their way to Jamaica from the US.

Hi, my name is Kemesha Robinson. I am from Lennox Bigwoods, Darliston Westmoreland but I am currently living in Saskatoon, SK Canada. It truly breaks my heart to see the devastation that hurricane Melissa has caused my family, my community and my country.

Lives have been lost and majority of the citizens of my community have been displaced and have lost everything. The destruction of homes, mostly board structures, has left many families without a roof over their heads or a place to call their own. The collapse of the Chantilly Primary School, which served as a shelter, resulted in the loss of a precious life. The need is great and it is hard to sit idly by.

Lennox Bigwoods is a small farming community in the hills of Westmoreland, by no means a big or popular city that you will see on the news or the media and while the government has made commitments to help all citizens, it is irresponsible to sit idly by and expect that they will provide sufficient and urgent support to all these smaller communities that are out of sight.

There are two initiatives that I am set out to fulfil:
1. My cousin in the US is packing barrels with food and other necessities to send to the community, so the first round of donations will go towards helping with the items that she is purchasing as it is more cost effective to ship things from the US than it is to ship them from Saskatchewan, Canada.

2. I have launched a non-prof organization to provide solar lanterns to individuals not just in Lennox Bigwoods but in surrounding communities based on availability. The second half of the funds raised will go towards buying these solar lanterns and bulbs to distribute in the community.

We are also open to non-monetary donations, please DM me on Instagram at Guidinglight_ja.

The funds from your donations will go towards both initiatives with the priority being to provide food, and other small necessities to the people of the community. As we navigate this challenging time, let's remember that every dollar, every share, and every prayer can bring hope and relief to those affected. Your contribution can make a tangible difference in the lives of those struggling to rebuild.

Will you join us in supporting the people of Lennox Bigwoods as they work to rebuild their lives? Donate today, share this campaign with your network, and let's come together to provide hope and relief to those who need it most.

All funds raised from this campaign will be properly documented and all transactions will be tracable and available for donor review if requested.
