Lenni is a vibrant, active 15-year-old boy whose life changed dramatically on Sunday, March 22nd. He began experiencing neck pain, and within hours, lost the ability to use his arms, hands, and legs. When his symptoms worsened, he was rushed to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital and then transferred to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. There, Lenni was diagnosed with a rare condition called transverse myelitis, which left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. He spent five days in the PICU, receiving aggressive IV steroid treatment, before being moved to Mary Free Bed to begin his rehabilitation journey.
This sudden and devastating diagnosis has brought immense challenges for Lenni and his family. The road to recovery will be long, requiring ongoing therapy, specialized equipment, and support. Medical bills are steadily accumulating from his hospital stays and rehabilitation, and the family is doing everything they can to ensure Lenni has the resources he needs to regain mobility and independence.
We are reaching out to friends, family, and the community for help. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference in Lenni’s recovery journey. Your support will help cover medical expenses and provide Lenni with the tools and care he needs to make his recovery easier. Thank you for standing with Lenni and our family during this difficult time.
