Her name is Honeylyn “Leng” Rivera aka (Nanay zumba sintunado )
She was born in the Phillipines and now resides in the United States. This is a true story lived by her mother Berna Rivera and herself
When giving birth to her 1st born child, Leng almost died because of a complication called Severe Eclampsia. Due to severe complication she was on coma for three months and almost died. While in coma, Leng remembered a visit from Jesus Christ and said to wake up and feed the children. Leng took it to heart from then it’s been part of the history of her family we and up until now doing feeding started the feeding program
That is the reason why and the importance of her feeding program up until today.
Another part of the story that strengthen her belief in miracles is about her mother experience…..
Going back to December 2000. Berna, her mother, had finally gotten her visa to come live in the United States with one of my sisters. During that time, Philippine officials informed her that her X ray revealed presence of tuberculosis. Despite that, Berna was allowed to leave the country, which she was grateful for and did not questioned.
Upon arrival at Leng’s sister's home, in the U.S., Berna was secluded in one room due to the reason of family’s fear spreading the illness to the rest of the family. The one person that was mostly concerned with was Leng’s brother-in-law is fear of his children catching the disease. Leng’s mom spent agonizing days secluded. Berna knew she had this terrible illness for she had been feeling very sick for years, but due to lack of funds had never received medical attention. Leng’s sister felt sorry for their mother and would allow mother to come out and get some sunshine when leng’s sister’s husband was at work. She would also allow the children to see their grandmother. The poor children would come running to warn my mother whenever they would hear their father, leng’s brother-in-law, driving home from work. They would run in a hurry saying, "Quickly grandma!... run to your room, my dad is coming home!"
During this trials and humbling time my mother started to get very close to God Jesus. She would cry to the Lord and ask for forgiveness and healing praying constantly. After three days, an American officer came to the home, they had been notified that my mother had tuberculosis by the Philippine government.
My mother was given a second set of X rays. After two weeks, she received a call notifying her that the X rays revealed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her.
Leng’s mothers started praising and thanking God for this amazing miracle. In her gratitude over the miracle in her life she has been very thankful and made even more aware of the sufferings of those unfortunates in her country who suffer from the lack of even the most essential things such as food, drinking water and clothing.
Leng’s mother and her started donating food and clothing in the year 2002 at different places near her previous home in the Philipiness; Panabingan San Antonio, Nueva Ecija . Common Wealth Quezon City, Santa Cruz Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija, Maliwalo, Tarlac City, Cainta,Taytay Rizal Pampanga,Laguna &Batangas we donated and fed 300 to 500 kids also we gave to many motorcycle drivers that went by.
On our their last donation, they were only able to make 400 care packages. It is so rewarding to see the faces of children light-up at the site of a little inexpensive toy, mothers there are so grateful over rice, noodles, coffee, sugar, soap, toothpaste, etc... things here in the United States most people take for granted.
Leng’s mother also goes to a thrift store where she is able to fill a bag of used clothing for only $7 which made her an expert in packing to get as much as possible for that small fee. She sends them clothing which is distributed to poor families. Used clothing here is readily found, people will also donate it for the poor, what makes it a little harder is the shipping fees to send it abroad. Leng’s has made it a point to use whatever money she can save or raise to send care packages to the poor people of her country.
I am helping Leng to open this gofund me for a cause in order that they may be able to raise more donations for those kind souls who are interested in helping the fellow brethren who are less fortunate.
They have been able to provide these donations from their savings only every two years. The needs are great, we would like to help even more. That is why I appeal to all those that read this, please find it in your heart to send whatever you can for those who have not. God will reward you and you will have the joy of knowing you made a difference in someone’s life.
