Support Lena's Journey to a Healthier Future

Hi My Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors,

I hope this finds you in excellent health and spirits. On behalf of Lena, I am writing to you today as both a necessity and a plea to support us on this unexpected journey that we are on. This personal challenge as presented has completely pushed me outside the boundaries of my comfort zone, and forces me to kindly ask for your support.

As a backdrop to this situation in 2022 Lena had switched schools from the cold Northern Jersey winds to Sunny South Florida, and a basic requirement of a school physical, with a physician who wanted to rule out a few concerns addressed stemmed into medical results that necessitated having to take her directly to an emergency room. Talk about “the wind being knocked out of your sails,” a diagnosis of Stage IV chronic kidney disease at an advanced level was found. With this sudden change we began maintaining life challenges through medication management, but that was temporary and now we are here. Following a pivot in Nephrologists plus more labs and genetic testing identified a cause of Nephronophthisis (a case of 1 in 922,000 found in the United States statistically), and the fourth case this year her Nephrologist has seen.

Well suffice it to say this new life challenge requires treatments current and ongoing that goes far beyond what my current financial capabilities can endure, medical expenses that are mounting; and with a continuing faith of hope for a life-saving kidney transplant. The kidney supports various components to the growth and development within the body, due to the lack of their growth in Lena's body is how we have reached this point. Currently, little Lena is undergoing hemodialysis 3x a week till transplant day, and is in good spirits, these two and a half hour sessions can be exhausting but this brave trooper gives a thumbs up every session with a smile on her face ready to conquer it all. These life sustaining events are a huge hurdle that there are no preparations for!

I am therefore humbly asking for your kind donation to support Lena’s cause and to cover her medical expenses.
