We are friends of Lena, who's currently going through chemotherapy and needs financial support. Here is the message from Lena herself:

"Hello! My name is Lena Pogorelova. I am a dance artist from Russia, currently living and working in Frankfurt, Germany.

In August 2025, I was diagnosed with lymphoma — a cancer of the lymphatic system. Right after that, I started chemotherapy. The treatment and recovery will last until December. My health insurance covers the medical costs, but I still need to pay for the insurance itself.

Because of chemotherapy, I cannot work: it affects my immune system, concentration, overall well-being, and cardiovascular health. Teaching dance in this condition is impossible.

Normally, in Germany, people in such situations can rely on social benefits. However, my residence permit is issued for freelancers and requires me to provide for myself. Applying for benefits could put my residence status at risk and even lead to deportation.

Right now, I urgently need help to cover food, housing, and health insurance until the end of chemotherapy. Any contribution would be an enormous support for me."

We are raising money to help Lena to cover rent, insurance, food and medicine till chemotherapy is over (which is in the end of December 2025).

This is the calculation of the expenses per month:

Rent + insurance + food and medicine per month: 675 + 400 + 400 = 1475€

Overall needed (September-December) = 5900€
