Lena, my daughter-in-law and my 3 year old granddaughter, Natalie were victims of a terrible act of violence. Major details of the event are being kept private at this time but Lena's motherly instinct saved Natalie from being shot. Lena was shot six times while protecting her child, and our family is devastated by this tragedy. Not only did Lena's bravery save her daughter's life, but Natalie had to witness her mother being shot, and will need a great deal of emotional support during this difficult time. Lena is a true hero. She is not only an amazing mother and wife but a nurse who's life is dedicated to helping others. The police and paramedics were praising her for her bravery and strength during this traumatic event.

Lena is now facing extensive medical treatment and will be unable to work as she recovers. Isaac will also need to take time off to care for Lena and Natalie. We do not know the full extent this tragedy will bring upon us but the financial strain and the medical bills will add up as her recovery will be a long road. My son, Isaac, is doing everything he can to care for Lena and Natalie, while trying to make sense of it all. They need help to get through this crisis and to ensure Natalie receives the emotional care she needs.
