Help Lemuel Yashobeam Israel Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 30th, a devastating house fire broke out on Church Street near downtown Cincinnati, completely displacing Lemuel Yashobeam Israel, his wife, and their five youngest children. While we are beyond grateful that everyone made it out safely with only minor injuries, they lost everything—left with only the clothes on their backs and no shoes on their feet.
Lemuel, a devoted father of nine and grandfather of five, is known by many as a deeply generous, hard-working, and loving man. His presence in the lives of his family, friends, and community is nothing short of powerful. A passionate gardener and a wise soul, Lemuel has spent his life nurturing more than just plants—he’s nurtured people, offering support, guidance, and love wherever he goes.
This fire has caused over $150,000 in structural damage, not including the countless personal belongings and cherished memories that were lost. His children and grandchildren have been left without the basic necessities of life, and while his wife has a GoFundMe to help support their recovery, it’s become clear that more help is needed to support Lemuel directly as he works to rebuild his life and continue caring for his family.
If Lemuel has ever blessed your life with his wisdom, kindness, laughter, or even fresh produce from his garden, now is the time to give back. Let’s show up for him like he has shown up for so many of us.
Please consider donating what you can and sharing this campaign widely. Every dollar counts, and every act of support brings this beloved father, grandfather, and community pillar one step closer to healing and stability.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity.
