Hey there. You may know me as Amnesia or Faith depending on how we’ve met. Another thing that you may know about me is I have pet birds. I’ve had pet birds for 10 years or so, especially parakeets. My flock has seen beautiful and low times.
Unfortunately, last night on 04/21/2025, the oldest bird in our flock, Lemon, passed away. She joined me years ago back in the summer of 2016. She was barely a year old then, so she was just about 8-9 years old now.
She was a gorgeous little bird who had a strong personality. She had an attitude but loved her birdy friends. I think of her as part of my “OG 3”, the original three birds that’s began my 9 year flock — Rice, Angel, and Lemon.
All three have reunited in heaven, birdy heaven, wherever it is where they can fly all day long and get fat on all the seeds they can dream of.
While Lemon doesn’t leave behind any kin, she did have a mate, Yin, and the rest of her friends — Yang, Lychee, Yoshi, and Tapioca.
When Rice passed away, circumstances then were much more expensive due to emergency veterinary bills incurred in attempt to save her. For her, when it came time to her funeral, I had her aquamated. Aquamation is like cremation, except with water. It’s much more peaceful and gentler on the body, using water to return bodies into a mineral-ashy state.
As I did with Rice, I have selected Eternal Waters Aquamation . When it was her time to be aquamated, the price was admittedly a lot lower. It seems that the prices have made a significant change from $80 to $180.
So, I am here today to ask for some help. If you have pocket change, even a dollar to spare. Lemon’s passing was unexpected and very heavy for all of us. My flock, my family, and friends who’ve met her through the years. Lemon was always a strong bird who fought everything, and she did not lose this battle; It was simply her time to rest after all these years.
For who it may concern, it seems to me she passed away from a sudden onset of a cloacal prolapse. I don’t know how to describe this in comfortable words, but it’s basically that her cloaca (how she goes potty and lays eggs) got too clogged from being egg bound (which surprised me) and she wasn’t able to push it out.
Thank you for any sort of help you may offer me. It truly means a lot to me, because I always want my birds to know they’re loved and will always be my babies.
