Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, I have been an active local singer-songwriter and passionate supporter of music and arts within the New Haven community and beyond. I have worked closely with our community and contributed in many ways over the years. Unfortunately, my health has declined rapidly since my first COVID-19 infection nearly four years ago. Most recently I had battled a very serious case of pneumonia and am struggling to get back to my baseline. While I am currently receiving treatment at the Albany Long Covid Clinic, the effects of this illness have been debilitating and have greatly impacted my ability to work. All body systems have been damaged. Lungs, heart, cardiovascular, nervous systems and my brain. I am still able to play a little and have been drawing a good deal with lots of rest often but am finding my inability to thrive heartbreaking and I am turning to you all as a last resort. The future is uncertain for me at present and I am scared.
The financial strain of my reduced work capacity is becoming increasingly difficult to bear. I would be greatful for any assistance you can offer to help me through this time as I am waiting for the necessary supports to be put in place. Such as home health care, Medicaid and HEAP.
Your generosity will help me keep up with my medical expenses, basic necessities, and allow me to focus on my recovery without the added stress of financial hardship.
Your support means the world to me, and I am eternally grateful for your love, compassion, and encouragement throughout the years. Thank you for standing by me during this time of uncertainty.
With deepest gratitude,
Leila Crockett
