Hello everyone, my name is Malcolm and I'm here because I have no more resources that I haven't exhausted already. I've always worked and held my own, but I haven't been able to lately because my daughter has become ill.

Here's Leighlyn's story: She had a mild cold about a month ago, which was determined to be rhinovirus, and she had gotten better on her own. Just last week, though, she seemed to get really sick and wasn't eating or drinking. It's been determined that the virus moved from her respiratory system to her heart. Now, she is going through heart failure with about 22% heart efficiency. They have her on a ventilator, and my sweet baby girl isn't doing so hot right now.

Leighlyn is 23 months old and doesn't deserve this. She's got the most contagious personality and will warm every heart in the room with her charm! I'm reaching out because I am a single father and have raised Leighlyn since she was about 2 months old, alone with very little or no government support. I live hours from family for support. I'm asking for funds to try and keep my head above water with bills and such so after my baby heals and comes home, I'll actually have a home to bring her to!

2 weeks ago Lou ended up in Helen Devos due to getting the rhino virus and with further testing her heart levels were going down so they had to put her on an IV heart medication which is helping slightly but not enough, they have now sent her to U of M Motts children’s hospital for further testing and to meet with a transplant team. We are hoping once she fights her sickness and with a new regimen of medicine she will have a good outcome and her heart will grow stronger. With being 2 1/2 hours from home and unable to leave the hospital and unable to go to work I find myself having to swallow my pride and ask for help.
